IOTA have used Doug Hayes Transport (DHT) for many years and have a strong working relationship with them.
In our opinion they are without doubt the most professional and trust worthy service available for the “economical” delivery of such bulky and heavy items.
They are however an “economy service” and the very good rates you see offer the the most basic of service.
Level of Service to Expect
DHT will give you a call once your order is in their depot and schedule a suitable day for delivery. They can’t give you a time, only a date, but can normally specify morning or afternoon.
All orders are sent on a large truck. The shipping address needs to have truck access into the street and somewhere the truck can park.
All orders are packed on a pallet and this is unloaded via a “tail gate” that is a hydraulic lift on the back of the truck.
There is only one driver in the truck. They will be able to move your goods on a pallet jack along any flat and even surface for up to about 10 meters from where the truck can get access to.
The pallet and all packaging materials will be left at you address. The driver will not be able to unpack and position your planters.
If you think any of this is an issue, it probably will be, so please choose the Local Pickup or Custom Freight option and we will organise a more customised service for you. You can chose Quote Only as the payment method for this and we will email you an invoice.
Please be aware that if you do choose the standard delivery service and the truck cannot access your site then you will be liable for additional charges.
*DHT do not deliver to residential premises and we have to use a courier service so you will notice a more expensive option for residential in the shipping calculator.
If the goods are not to your satisfaction for any reason you may return the items in “as new” condition for a full refund or exchange within 30 days. You will however be responsible for the cost of freight to return the order to our warehouse plus a 15% restocking fee.
Arranging freight is a value-added service we offer to our clients. We do not have equity in any freight companies and do not take a commission. The contract regarding delivery is between you and the freight company. You will need to deal directly with the freight company once it has left the IOTA warehouse. IOTA Australia take no responsibility for loss of income incurred through delays in freight or delivery instructions not being carried out by the driver.
Our insurance covers damage to the products only and does not include freight for replacement or removal of the damaged goods.
