IOTA’s Slate Trough planters were on scene at a terrace redesign in a home in Drummoyne, NSW. Kev Quelch and his team at Inovasis Design took on the redesign challenge and specified IOTA’s slate planters which blended well with a backdrop of natural colours. Designing a terrace for this sweet spot with container planters enhanced its beauty.
The end result was a relaxing ambience as the terrace hosted an array of slate trough planters and hanging pots. The slate trough planters offered a naturel subtlety adding greenery to the borders of the terrace which would have otherwise been plain. The slate’s natural textures complimented the use of natural materials and native plantings along with an attractive backdrop of trees, topiary planting and a river.
The hanging ceramic pots assisted in defining spaces without looking cramped. The goal was to define three zones in the terrace – an entertainment/dining area, an intimate area where the owners Elizabeth and Pat can relax, and a wonderful-smelling herb garden hidden from the outside view.
Elizabeth and Pat were more than thrilled with the design as the terrace became a place where they can relax and receive guests. They now spend much more time in the terrace than they used to.
