Located in Seaview in the Isle of Wight, Seaview Bay is a development situated along the northeastern coast of the island. Built along a steep hillside, it offers a stunning panoramic view of the sea. At the center of the development is a yard surrounded by hard walls and buildings. One of the main attractions of the development are its communal gardens interconnected by a series of terraces. Carefully considering the already present theme of the development, a few select IOTA planters are supplemented to soften the areas of hardscaping.
The planters chosen for the design were the Granite Cube 600, Granite Taper 800 and Granite Tall Square planters. Granite Cube 600 planters that serve as the unifying element of the design are placed at the core of the development. These are planted with ornate Hebes and carefully placed along the yard.
At the terraces, Granite Cube 600 planters are also used but planted with Buxus. These create a visual element that lures the eyes along the terraces and soon after to a stunning view of the sea. Along the stairways are alcoves which are found to perfectly accommodate the Granite Tall Square planters. Finally, the Granite Taper 800 planters are placed at the entrance of the development to welcome visitors as they come in.
IOTA’s planters were commissioned and sourced for this project by Indian Ocean, which oversaw the project in its entirety, to add a touch of detail to the design.
