Stanhope Village Shopping Centers is now a tad greener after installing IOTA’s Extra Large Granite Trough 1200 Planters. This urban landscape is filled with hard concrete paving, sharp corners and a lot of parked vehicles. With some low-lying foliage planted in every stone trough planter, it now looks just a little bit more pleasing to the eye.
Mirvac, the company behind Stanhope Village Shopping Centre, is keeping up with its sustainability strategy. While the stone trough planter are but a small part of the sustainability efforts, it does help in reducing the company’s carbon footprint. By 2015, Mirvac hopes to reduce its carbon intensity by 20%.
You can check out Mirvac’s sustainability report here where they detail their goals and what has been accomplished. Currently, Mirvac gets a portion of its electricity consumption from solar energy. The company further hopes to increase its reliance on renewable energy sources. Mirvac is also committed to recycling all its waste material. The goal is to recycle 75% of the waste by 2018 and literally everything come 2030.
