Fiberglass Planters Help Green This Parking Area in Maroochydore

IOTA’s round and trough fiberglass planters helped green this parking lot in Red Rooster, Maroochydore, QLD.

The area along Maroochydore Road, hosts a variety of establishments and some wide roads. The surrounding area has some large trees, however it is still mostly concrete so the areas where you can plant are quite limited. The parking area, in particular, was in need of some plant life. The planters offer a planting solution without having to dig up the pavement.

The designers chose fiberglass planters which provide a modern feel with its smooth paint finish. The fiberglass planters are also lightweight and durable. Also, to reduce maintenance costs, the planters have been fitted with drip irrigation. In the images below, you can see the black fittings running across the planters. This eliminates the need for any manual watering as the drip irrigation system keeps the potting mix moist.

Drip irrigation can really cut down the water usage compared to manual watering, which is also laborious. Sprinklers, on the other hand, waste a lot of water, so drip irrigation is clearly the better option. You can check out our post on drop irrigation to find out how drip irrigation can help with your container garden.
