IOTA custom granite planters were commissioned for the redevelopment of the town centre for the town of Leek in Staffordshire County. This town centre development project enhanced the beauty and charm of the place.
The town of Leek, located at the foot of the Peak District National Park, is a market town and the principal town of the Staffordshire Moorlands. The town is most prominent for its Wednesday market which draws thousands of people from throughout the Moorlands. The town is also sometimes called as the Gateway to the Peak District and more often as the Queen of the Moorlands.
As part of a redevelopment effort for the town centre of Leek, IOTA custom granite planters were placed along the intersection of Market St. and Derby St. IOTA custom granite planters are fabricated from sections of solid dark grey granite ensuring strength and durability making it well-suited for public spaces . The end polish of the granite creates a quiet but sophisticated look.
The planter dimensions used are as follows: L1100 x W1100 x H900mm, L1200 x W1200 x H900 and L1500 x W1200 x H900. These dimensions have been chosen for the planters to be large enough to hold small trees. Footings made of granite were added beneath the planters themselves to improve the flexibility of the design by facilitating easy movement via forklift. Aside from this, the specification required the addition of steel eye bolts at the base of each planter to facilitate the tree anchoring system.
These custom granite planters can be seen throughout the town centre development containing small trees and blending perfectly with the charm of the town centre.
