IOTA’s Venice tall round planters were placed throughout Epicurious Garden to soften the hard landscaped areas. They give height and depth to the overall design which enhances the terrace effect given by the stairs and the natural slope the garden is on. The planters also help visitors stay on the garden path.
With its rounded shape and Italian polished plaster look, the round planters add a soft touch between the public seating areas and the overall landscape design.
Epicurious Garden is a must-visit destination at South Bank for foodies, gardening enthusiasts and people who want to unwind. It is an ornamental and productive garden in the heart of the South Bank Parklands. It is home to an exquisite array of plants ranging from exotic species like black sapote to age-old favourites herbs such as thyme. Fresh produce are harvested regularly and free samples are available for tasting from the garden’s harvest cart. The cart operates from 7am-2pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and is on a “first-in, best-dressed basis”.
Learn about inner-city gardening from gardener volunteers who are onsite from 7:00AM to 11:30AM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. You can also get recipe suggestions and learn how to cook with fresh produce in your own home. All produce in the garden is organic and is rotated seasonally throughout the year.
The garden is maintained by a team of dedicated staff and 14 volunteer gardeners who have been recruited for their specialised knowledge in order to maintain a high horticultural standard.
